Abstract


Analysis of Financial Performance in Cement Sub-Sector Companies Using Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA) Methods for the 2020 - 2022.

In the Cement Sub Sector companies, there was a decrease in demand for cement and an increase in cement production capacity in 2020, resulting in a decline in the financial performance of cement companies. The aim of this research is to determine the economic added value of companies and be able to provide prosperity to shareholders/investors in cement sub-sector companies which are reviewed using the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA) methods for the 2020 - 2022 period.

This type of research uses quantitative methods. The samples in this research are cement sub-sector companies from 2020 - 2022, there are six samples including INTP, SMGR, SMCB, SMBR, WSBP, and WTON. Using library data collection techniques (library research), namely collecting data related to the problem to be researched to obtain secondary data. The analysis tool in this research uses Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA).

The results of financial performance research using the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA) methods show that several companies such as INTP, WSBP, and WTON have good performance with positive EVA values (EVA>0), while SMGR, SMBR, and SMCB show poor performance (EVA<0). In the MVA method, INTP, WSBP, and SMBR have positive MVA values (MVA>0), while SMGR, WTON, and SMCB have negative MVA (MVA<0). Suggestions for further research are to add methods such as FVA and REVA to measure financial added value and pay attention to the market value of business entities
