ANALISIS EFISIENSI BIAYA PERSEDIAAN BERDASARKAN METODE ECONOMIC ORDER QUANTITY (EOQ) PADA TOKO SIANTAR PLASIK

Abstract

Inventory carried in large quantities will cause problems for the store, such as high storage costs and the risk of product damage or loss as well as the problem of too large invested capital because the products purchased are not immediately turned into cash again. Providing raw materials in quantities that are too small will cause delays in meeting consumer needs due to limited stock. A shop must stock good raw materials in order to meet consumer needs and avoid excessively high storage costs and the risk of damage. There are many ways that can be done, one of which is by managing inventory using Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) methods.

The aim of this research is: to determine and analyze the level of inventory optimization of ABC R6 Batteries at the Siantar Plastik Store. This research was conducted only on the inventory of ABC R6 Battery products at the Siantar Plastik Store with a period of January to April 2024. The data collection technique used in this research is library research. The analysis tool in this research uses analysis Economic Order Quantity with the EOQ, Safety Stock and Reorder Point formula.

The results of the research show that the supply of ABC 6R batteries at the Siantar Plastik Store is not optimal because there is a difference in the amount of inventory according to the Siantar Plastik Store calculations and the EOQ method. This happens because the Store does not have a clear and effective inventory planning system, so it is difficult to predict customer demand using accuracy which has the potential to result in high storage costs and the risk of damaged or lost goods.
