PENGARUH KETERLIBATAN KARYAWAN DAN KEPUASAN KERJA TERHADAP RETENSI KARYAWAN DI PT WARGI SANTOSA SAMARINDA

Abstract


High employee turnover is a challenge for PT.Wargi Santosa Samarinda, especially as a result of suboptimal employee engagement and low levels of job satisfaction.and low levels of job satisfaction. High employee turnovercan have an impact on increasing recruitment costs, training new employees,as well as decreasing productivity and organizational stability. Therefore,this study aims to analyze the effect of employee engagement and job job satisfaction on employee retention, both individually and simultaneously,in order to provide strategic recommendations for companies in improving workforce retention.

This research utilizes the theory of Human Resource Management (HRM) theory with a focus on three main variables, namely employee engagement, job satisfaction, and employee retention. The research method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). Data collected from 45 employees of PT Wargi Santosa Samarinda through a Likert-scale questionnaire and in-depth interviews. questionnaire and in-depth interviews to strengthen the research findings.

The results showed that employee engagement has no significant effect on employee retention, indicating that other factors may play a more dominant role in employees' decisions to stay. In contrast, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect, meaning that higher job satisfaction increases the likelihood of employees staying with the company

Employee engagement and job satisfaction together explain 59% of the variation in employee retention, while the remaining 41% is influenced by other factors not examined. PT Wargi Santosa Samarinda is advised to enhance job satisfaction through competitive compensation, fair benefits, and clear career development. Regular evaluations of employee engagement and satisfaction are also recommended to maintain workforce stability.
