ANALISIS KESENJANGAN DAN REKOMENDASI PENINGKATAN KUALITAS PENDIDIKAN TINGGI

Abstract


The Internal Quality Audit (AMI) at the Law Study Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda, revealed several key findings in the areas of education, research, and community service (PkM) for the academic year 2023/2024. In the education standards, the study program has formulated graduate competency standards but these have not yet been legalized or disseminated. The existing curriculum is from 2014 and consists only of a list of courses and Semester Learning Plans (RPS), rather than a comprehensive curriculum document. Lecture planning has been carried out, but without official meeting minutes and comprehensive monitoring and evaluation. Regarding learning facilities and infrastructure, implementation is not optimal, lacking clear Annual Work and Budget Plans (RKAT) and monitoring-evaluation involving the Faculty Quality Assurance Unit (UPMF). Furthermore, the study program has not developed academic guidelines and lacks clear learning assessment standards. Strong leadership, formal policies and procedures, and consistent strategic planning are also identified as weaknesses.In the research standards, it was found that the research roadmap has not been updated according to current developments, not all lecturers are actively involved in research, and there is a lack of motivation or support for lecturers to participate. Adequate documentation of the research roadmap, systematic planning, incentives, and effective monitoring-evaluation mechanisms remain areas for improvement. For community service (PkM) standards, the absence of a clear and structured PkM roadmap, along with the lack of formal guidelines for implementing and reporting PkM activities, has resulted in suboptimal activity execution and insufficient documentation of contributions and performance evaluation. Overall, the condition of the Law Study Program, Faculty of Law, is already very good, but improvements are needed in the identified areas to ensure proper program documentation. The main recommendation from the AMI is to enhance document archiving for both hard and soft files. Follow-up actions from the AMI results should include continuous improvement, monitoring, and evaluation.
