Abstract

Abstract. Disability is a long-term physical, intellectual, mental or sensory impairment that
prevents social participation. Caring for individuals with intellectual, physical,
developmental, Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other types of disabilities is a
challenging task for parents. As parents who have children with disabilities, the ability to
adapt and motivate themselves is known as resilience. The purpose of this study was to
identify the resilience factors of parents who have children with disabilities. The research
method used is narrative review. The results showed that there are factors that have a major
influence on parental resilience, namely formal and informal social support. Through this
research, some of the factors described can help motivate parents in caring for children with
disabilities.
