PENGARUH KEBERFUNGSIAN KELUARGA TERHADAP REGULASI EMOSI SISWA PELANGGAR DISIPLIN

Abstract


Abstract.This study aimed to examine the effect of family functioning on emotion regulation among students who had committed disciplinary violations at Al-Azhar Samarinda Islamic Junior High School. This topic was selected because emotion regulation is an essential ability in adolescent development, particularly in controlling behavior and complying with rules, while family is theoretically considered the primary environment shaping emotional abilities. The research hypothesis proposed that family functioning has an effect on students’ emotion regulation. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The research subjects consisted of students at Al-Azhar Samarinda Islamic Junior High School who had a history of disciplinary violations. Data were collected using a family functioning scale and an emotion regulation scale, and analyzed through inferential statistical techniques. The results indicated that family functioning did not have a significant effect on students’ emotion regulation. These findings suggest that students’ emotion regulation is not solely influenced by family conditions, but is also affected by other factors outside the family, such as peer environment and the role of religious-based school systems that function as sources of behavioral guidance and reinforcement. This study concludes that the development of students’ emotion regulation requires the involvement of multiple parties, indicating that guidance efforts should not only focus on the family, but also actively involve schools and the broader social environment.

Abstrak.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keberfungsian keluarga terhadap regulasi emosi pada siswa yang pernah melakukan pelanggaran kedisiplinan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Azhar Samarinda. Topik ini dipilih karena regulasi emosi merupakan kemampuan penting dalam perkembangan remaja, khususnya dalam mengendalikan perilaku dan menaati aturan, serta keluarga secara teoritis dipandang sebagai lingkungan utama dalam pembentukan kemampuan tersebut. Hipotesis penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa keberfungsian keluarga berpengaruh terhadap regulasi emosi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Azhar Samarinda yang memiliki riwayat pelanggaran kedisiplinan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen skala keberfungsian keluarga dan skala regulasi emosi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberfungsian keluarga tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap regulasi emosi siswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa regulasi emosi siswa tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh kondisi keluarga, tetapi juga oleh faktor lain di luar keluarga, seperti lingkungan teman sebaya dan peran sekolah berbasis nilai religius yang berfungsi sebagai sistem pembinaan dan penguatan perilaku. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya keterlibatan berbagai pihak dalam pengembangan regulasi emosi siswa, sehingga upaya pembinaan tidak hanya berfokus pada keluarga, tetapi juga melibatkan sekolah dan lingkungan sosial secara menyeluruh
