Peer Review Process
Review Process:
- The editor accepts the manuscript from the author;
- The editor evaluates the manuscript according to the scope and style of the journal's environment, if it does not fit the script, it is rejected;
- The editor sends the manuscript to the reviewer along with the review form via OJS, the process takes 4-8 weeks;
- The reviewer sends the review form back to the Editor with the revised text;
- Editor's decision (rejected, requires a major revision, needs minor revision, or accepted);
- Confirmation to the author.
- If revised, the author revises the manuscript and must be returned to the editor, waited for two months if more is considered as a new submission.
Publication Frequency
JAKT: Jurnal Agroteknologi dan Kehutanan Tropical is a scientific journal dedicated to publishing research manuscripts in the fields of agricultural technology, agricultural cultivation, forest management, forest cultivation, forest pests and diseases, and other topics relevant to tropical agriculture and forestry. JAKT is published twice a year in January and July.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. there is no charge for downloading content such as pdf and doc.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
Publication Ethic
The Journal of Agrotechnology and Tropical Forestry (JAKT) is a journal managed by the Faculty of Agriculture University of 17 August 1945 Samarinda and published by the Institute for Research and Community Services (LP2M) University of 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda. The JAKT Journal was first published in 2023
JAKT is a scientific journal that contains writings in the form of research results in the fields of agrotechnology and tropical forestry.
This statement of scientific code of ethics is a statement of code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, peer reviewers, and writers.
The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values in publications: Neutrality, which is free from conflicting interests in management of the publications; Justice, Which involves giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.
Author
- The author must present the manuscript Of the results or ideas of the research clearly and honestly, without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
- The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted on the manuscript that has been written.
- The author must properly cite references from the opinions and works of others quoted.
- Authors are not allowed to make the same duplicate manuscript and sent it to more than one journal at the same time because it is unethical.
- The author must write the script ethically, honestly and responsibly, in accordance with applicable scientific writing regulations.
- The author agrees to any editing of the the manuscript during the review review and layout process, as long as it does not change the substance.
- If the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript that has been published.
- If the research uses hazardous chemicals the writer must clearly write the procedure in the manuscript.
Editor's Duties
- JAKT Journal Editor has the duty to decide on a suitable manuscript to be published through an editorial board meeting that refers to the applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
- In the process of reviewing and accepting manuscript, the editorial team is guided by the the principle of equal treatment in making decisions to publish manuscripts by not distinguishing race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology of the author.
- The editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated for originality. The editor arranges and uses peer reviews based on the reviewers’ field of expertise to ensure that papers are published fairly and wisely. The editor should explain the peer review process in the information provided to authors and also shows indicate which parts of the jounal were reviewed by colleagues.
- The editor and editorial team will maintain the confidentiality of any information about the manuscripts except with the author's permission.
- Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by JAKT Journal research editors but will be returned directly to the authors.
Review Tasks
- Peer review helps the editor in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with the author if there is an improvement in the manuscript.
- Peer review must be fair and timely.
- Peer reviews must maintain the confidentialy of the manuscript during the review process.

Correction and Retraction Policies
Jurnal Agroteknologi dan Kehutanan Tropika (JAKT) is committed to publish correction (errata and corrigenda) or retraction in accordance with the COPE Guidelines. In all cases, these notices are linked to the original article.
Correction
Errata provide a means of correcting errors that occurred after proofreading process. This includes writing, typing, editing, or publication (e.g., a misspelling, a dropped word or line, or mislabeling in a figure) of a published article. The authors need to send direct email to the editorial office (jaktpertanian@gmail.com) to ask for an erratum and the correction will be taken based on the last proofread provided. Corrigenda provides a means of correcting errors that are made by the authors but the errors should not alter the overall basic results or conclusions of a published article. Note that the addition of new data is not permitted. For corrections of a scientific nature or issues involving authorship, all disputing parties must agree, in writing, to publication of the Correction. For omission of an author as name, letters must be signed by the authors of the article and the author whose name was omitted. The editor who handled the article will be consulted if necessary.

Plagiation Policy
Every manuscript submitted to the Journal of Agrotechnology and Tropical Forestry (JAKT) must be free from content containing plagiarism. Authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check content similarity. The editorial team detects plagiarism in articles submitted to JAKT using anti-plagiarism software (iThenticate). The maximum limit for plagiarism is 25%.
