Abstract

A hedonic lifestyle is a lifestyle that is carried out to seek pleasure in life, such as spending more time outside the home, playing a lot, and always wanting to be the center of attention. The development of the times makes people consume goods and services not because of basic needs but because it is to achieve self-satisfaction, thus causing someone to be wasteful. . This triggers consumer behavior and failure in financial management in the younger generation in managing their personal finances, so that they can regulate and manage the income they earn and their budgeted expenses properly.  This research explores the relationship between financial literacy and a hedonistic lifestyle, focusing on the impact of financial understanding on consumer behavior that tends to be excessive. A hedonistic lifestyle, which is characterized by an orientation towards instant pleasure and consumption, often causes individuals to ignore critical aspects of personal financial management. The aim of the research is to identify the extent to which financial literacy can act as a mitigating factor against consumer behavior that can be detrimental to an individual's financial stability. The research method used a combination of surveys and interviews to collect data from respondents covering various levels of society. Data analysis focused on measuring the level of financial literacy and manifestations of a hedonistic lifestyle. The research findings highlighted the importance of increasing financial literacy as a strategy to reduce the negative impact of a hedonistic lifestyle. The practical implications of this research lied in the development of financial literacy programs that are adapted to the challenges of a hedonistic lifestyle. Financial organizations, governments, and educational institutions can use these findings to design educational programs and policies that support increased financial literacy and ultimately, individual financial stability. Thus, this research contributes to our understanding of the relationship between financial literacy and a hedonistic lifestyle, as well as offering a new perspective on efforts to improve people's financial well-being.
